A little over a year ago, we lost Mark Fisher, a brilliant theorist who was equally at home writing about 1980s post-punk and Marxist political economy. To commemorate one of their most beloved faculty members, the Department of Visual Cultures at Goldsmiths, University of London has established the Mark Fisher Memorial Lecture, to be delivered annually in January. The inaugural lecture was recently given by Fisher’s friend and Goldsmiths colleague Kodwo Eshun, who discussed Fisher’s intellectual and political legacy. Here’s a video of the lecture:
