How tragic that the beginnings of an excellent and powerful analysis of the sickness of the Western world and its turn to civil war are poisoned by anti-Marxist gibberish about the “clash [being] between the victims of colonialism (both past and present) and the white populations of Europe, America, and Russia”.
Both the white and black masses are still confused about the nature of the unfolding mass CLASS fight to the finish between the ruling monopoly-capitalist classes and the world’s proletariat.
It is quite simply silly and divisive to make this about the colour of men’s skin. Anyone with half a brain could compile a long list of great socialist and anti-imperialist revolutionaries who are “white”, and an equally long list of foul, fascist enemies of progress and upholders of imperialism, capitalism and slavery who are “black”.
Plus how are you going to work out these denominations - are you going to use a colour card like apartheid? It’s sick and ridiculous.
It is totally obvious that monopoly-capitalism constantly uses racism to divide workers to hold back the revolution; but it has also played the “moral superiority” race card - by Washington getting in a “charming, handsome” black president to keep its warmongering racket going when things started to smell too bad with too many failures and defeats under George W Bush. On average, Obama dropped three bombs every hour on the Third World for his entire presidency.
Nor is this global civil war or wars stemming purely from psychology or “the white mind”. It spills out of the international and global-historic capitalist crisis of “over-production”. There are so many mountains of surplus capital from decades of previous production that too little profit can be made by all the world’s banks and companies, and the system is clogged up. It needs world war, if it can get there, to return to a boom time. That would put the world in smouldering ruins for a third time (after WW1 & WW2) and its early phases have already destroyed large areas of the Middle East and wiped out hundreds of thousands of people.
Certainly, the black proletariat in the USA and the colonised masses around the planet have suffered centuries of foul exploitation and tyranny from the white capitalist colonial powers, lording it as the “master races”.
But the colonial imperialists will get their comeuppance all the faster the quicker that all black nationalists find common cause with global anti-imperialism, and the quicker that all workers get wise both to the divisive stupidities of racism [all ways, white vs black, and black vs white etc] and the ghastly legacy of decades of Western “freedom & democracy” anti-communism.
Talk that implies that the Brexit vote is purely racist is definitely missing the point. The British establishment asked a stupid question and a great number of people deliberately gave them a stupid answer, just to mess them up. The xenophobia around it is definitely backward and deluded with nasty British Empire [totally moth-eaten] dreams; but the Remainers are equally deluded with complacent pro-EU bosses club complacency. The Marxist position is always hostile to political support for any bosses’ trading blocs. “Workers of the world unite!” NOT workers of the world line up with one side in a trade war, that could at any moment become a shooting war.
It should also be said that it is “imperfect” human material that has to make the socialist revolution; not “perfect”. Much of the old, sick backwardness of racism, male machismo, clannishness, xenophobia etc that pollutes civilisation will only be overcome on the other side of the revolution.
This implies the paradox that the way to fight racism is not simply to fight racism. Explain capitalist crisis and warmongering, the lies about the “war on terror”, build Leninist parties of revolution in the working masses and explain that only the revolution can resolve all social injustices.
First the dictatorship of the proletariat, to smash and suppress counter-revolution, then the transition to socialism and the disappearance of age-old social divisiveness and eventually the end of all human alienation in self-administration (without any coercion) and the withering away of the state.
Give it 200 years, and the words of John Lennon’s Imagine will come true.
