The man who shot Chris Burden

The performance artist Chris Burden passed away earlier this month after a battle with cancer. In the wake of his death, the New York Times has tracked down one of his most important artistic collaborators: the man who shot the rifle in Burden’s well-known performance Shoot in 1971. The man’s identity was kept secret while Burden was alive, but the Times now has a video interview with him. The man “had long ago cut his hair, given up his artistic ambitions and embarked on a successful career as an accountant.”
